USAGE RULES
TopicPair is designed to enable spontaneous conversations between people. To make that work, a few straightforward boundaries apply throughout the closed beta.
1. Minimum age
The current closed beta is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or over.
2. Respect in conversation
Treat other participants with respect. Harassment, targeted intimidation, threats, dehumanizing attacks and repeated unwanted contact are not permitted.
3. No abuse of pseudonymity
Rotating conversation IDs are designed to protect privacy. They are not permission for abuse. TopicPair may use internal account and conversation mappings for blocking, moderation, safety measures and handling reports.
4. Do not publish other people’s private information
Do not publish or distribute another person’s private contact details, address, exact location or other personal information without their consent.
5. No unlawful content or conduct
TopicPair must not be used to distribute unlawful content, plan criminal acts, endanger others or deliberately circumvent safety features.
6. Topics, not people discovery
The core of TopicPair is Topic → Join → Connect → Conversation. Local-context features are not intended to identify specific individuals or determine where they live or are currently located.
7. Blocking and reporting
If a conversation feels uncomfortable or unsafe, you can end the connection. Where moderation features are enabled, participants can also be blocked or reported. Abuse of the reporting system is not permitted either.
8. Not a substitute for emergency services or professional help
TopicPair is not an emergency service. In the event of immediate danger or a medical, police or other emergency, contact the appropriate official emergency service.
9. Beta status
The beta is for testing. Features may be changed, temporarily disabled or restricted if safety issues arise. Beta access may be suspended for serious or repeated violations of these rules.
